Mark Roberts is, on any given day, the least qualified person at DiVentures. If you don't believe that, just ask around. A former small-business owner, he intended to retire "early" and thought that being clever enough to sell his businesses would let him go diving, fishing, shooting and putter around (on a tractor his wife gave him as a birthday present) his Nebraska acreage he calls High Plains Ranch. Unfortunately, that same wife suspected he would be underfoot (and in the way) around the house and explained that, "You don't have to go to work, but you can't stay home." Fortunately, he met up with Dean Hollis during a mission trip to Nicaragua with The Rainbow Network and, while bouncing between villages in a rented van for a few days their conversations turned to diving and how much they both loved being in the water. The rest is recent history, and there are already some stories to tell. Drop by the shop, and ask about Corn Island some day.

Mark is a certified Open Water Diver and holds various other certifications. He'll probably never be a dive instructor...and that might be good. He enjoys the aforementioned hobbies as well as watching the new building take shape, seeing his kids grow up, boating, cars and reading. He is involved in Boy Scouting, his church and several charity organizations. He loves to dive and makes a pretty good dive buddy, if you need one (don't we all?). Mostly, Mark believes he's the luckiest guy in the world and can't, for the life of him, figure out why he's been so blessed.
