The Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and it has introduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
COST: DiVentures Open Water Diver course is $375 for a lifetime certification. Your Open Water Diver course requires you to have your own mask, fins and snorkel. These have a personal fit and will help enhance your scuba experience. We offer a range of equipment starting at $160 for our Open Water students.
TIMES: DiVentures Open Water Diver courses start every week. Students meet twice a week for two weeks -- either Monday and Wednesday evenings OR Tuesday and Thursday evenings. These classes include classroom work and pool time.
Once a month we also offer a Friday, Saturday and Sunday certification course. This allows you to complete you confined water dives in one weekend. Check the calendar for dates.
In addition, students must complete four open water dives. These may be done at the Atlantic Quarry in Atlantic, IA (about 45 minutes away). These dives can be completed in two sessions, one Saturday and one Sunday with DiVentures. DiVentures instructors are at the quarry each weekend to help you complete your certification. Open water dive sessions generally last from 9AM-3PM.
PRIVATE LESSONS: Life is busy. If none of our options work for you consider our private lessons. Courses will be done at a pace that fits your needs. Private lessons cost $600 and ensure you get the most out of your scuba certification course.
