Katy received her Junior Open Water Diver certification from DiVentures' very own Brian DenHartog in 2001 and has been diving with her family ever since. She has worked at Diventures on and off since June of 2010, but after receiving her B.A. in psychology from Nebraska Wesleyan University in December of 2011, she promptly jumped right back into the world of SCUBA.
Although she still just has that Open Water Diver certification, she has been diving in Belize, Turks & Caicos, the Bahamas, Honduras and several locations around the U.S., and has had a blast at every destination. One of these days she’ll finish up her Advanced Open Water courses and start working towards her Dive Control Specialist rating. Her favorite piece of diving equipment is her Atomic Z2 regulator for its easy breathing and easier maintenance.
When Katy isn’t working on the retail floor or exploring the ocean floor, you can find her training her horse, Eddie, working on a painting, or catching up on the newest in experiential therapies. She’s a busy gal, but she always has time to talk SCUBA!
